Because not only had I lost Travis and Harry when they both fell in love with you, I lost you as well. "I don't blame, but there was once a time when I would have come first with you And when I no longer came first I got angry. Instead of letting her broken heart beat her down, she devotes herself to Jacob with mama bear level ferocity:.Rats.īut underneath the lonely, sensitive exterior, our Cass is a fighter. One fall plummets her from it-girl status to locked-into-a-betrothal-nobody-wants-but-nobody-will-abandon-girl status. Too bad Harry's all about his girl Mary, though. Harry helps Cass through the whole wounded-Travis situation, which eventually gets Cass all getting googly eyed for Harry instead of Travis.Cass can barely get a word in edgewise since she doesn't live in the Cathedral and all. While mending in the Cathedral, Mary-that's right, Cass's bff-visits Travis on the regular, whispering sweet stories of the ocean into his ear.Ironically, Travis's fall shatters Cass's perfect life as well by throwing her into a love mess. She's got everything going for her… until Travis takes his tumble and shatters his leg. She's Mary's sweet blonde bestie who nabs the boy Mary wants-Travis. When it comes to love and kisses, this girl has it all… taken away from her. There are many differences between the two, and in the end I imagine the similarities between Forest and Last of Us is more superficial than anything else, but that might be enough to keep Williams away from that film, assuming it is even ready to shoot any time soon.Oh, Cassandra. Some of the basics here, like the "unconsecrated" which are basically undead cannibals who prey on humans in the wake of a disaster, and the village in which Mary lives as a safe haven, are basically YA boilerplate.īut those elements are also just similar enough to The Last of Us - a world in which a disaster has created fungal zombies that prey on humans - that I wonder if Williams would really get involved with this potential franchise and then also do the video game adaptation. We can't wait to bring Ryan's fantastical world to life and are absolutely thrilled to have Maisie on board. I am so incredibly excited to be stepping into the 'Forest' and collaborating with such a brilliant creative mind as Doug's. Doug Liman is producing this film, and has been guiding the development over the past year. The film is being written and directed by Kate Maberly, who moved from acting into writing and directing with the short Charlie's Supersonic Glider. So Variety reports that Williams will play Mary in the film version of Carrie Ryan's novel.
